Johan Santana delivered 6 solid innings as the Caracas Leones defeated the
league door-mat Burbank Tigers by the score of 8 to 2 at Pro Player
Stadium.
Austin Kearns had a good day at the plate. He doubled which plated a run in
the 1st inning, banged out a single plating two runs in the 4th inning and
cracked a solo homerun (his 9th of the season) in the 8th inning. Caracas
finished with 16 hits while Burbank ended up with 6.
The winning pitcher was Santana(20-6) who allowed no runs in 6 innings. Scott
Elarton(3-13) took the loss. He was unable to control the Caracas offense
and allowed 10 hits and 6 walks in 6 innings.
